Joe Alagna is the Chief Strategy Officer at it.com Domains Ltd. He was formerly a V.P. of Channel Development at 101domain and Identity Digital, (FNA Afilias).[1] He is well-known as the former General Manager of North American Markets for CentralNic, a London based domain name registry,[2] which he left in February 2013.[3] He started at CentralNic in 2001 and built relationships with the many registrars it works with as well as its 60 new gTLD applicants.[4][5] He was influential in establishing CentralNic as the largest sub-domain registry in the world and was responsible for creating their specialized division, Personal Net Names, a division that allowed domainers to quickly offer their own sub-domains to the general market and subsequently became their TLD registry product.

Joe lives in Southern California.[6]

Career History[edit | edit source]

Mr. Alagna has held sales management positions at other companies, such as RBS Lynk Systems and AT&T.[7] After moving to California, he noticed the burgeoning mobile market. He joined AT&T as a National Accounts Manager and was responsible for some of the company's largest accounts, including Boeing, Rockwell, and FedEx. His eye for market trends led him to the Internet during its commercial development phase in the mid-90s. He has become an expert in domain names, new gTLDs, and online marketing.

Joe maintains his own portfolio of domains and volunteered for the Inland Empire Small Business Center, teaching classes in Online Marketing. He has spoken at ICANN, the Direct Marketing Association Conference, NamesCon, CloudFest, and Targeted Traffic Conferences.
